Airtel MNP.  The process of porting Airtel mobile number to another Mobile operator is so simple & easy.
Just follow the below 4-steps simple process to port successfully:

  1. Know your Mobile Number Porting eligibility

    • Call the customer-care of the new Mobile operator you wish to port and understand their pre-requisites, documents required and terms & conditions. You can read these in their CAF (Customer Application Form) or ask their executive.
    • If you wish to port-out, fill the CAF & Porting Form. To fill these forms, you will need Unique Porting Code.
  2. Get UPC (Unique Porting Code)

    • Send SMS in below format to obtain UPC from Airtel:
      • PORT xxxxxxxxxx to 1900. Replace X’s with your 10-digit Airtel mobile number.
    • If you are from Jammu & Kashmir and a pre-paid subscriber, call 1900 to get the UPC.
    • Airtel will provide an auto generated 8 digits UPC; first two characters are alphabets & rest of six is numerical characters.
  3. Mobile Number Porting request

    • Submit the duly filled CAF & Porting Form to your new mobile operator. Below details are mandatory for MNP:
      • UPC (Unique Porting Code)
      • Documents required by your new Mobile Operator
      • Last bill paid receipt from Airtel, if you are a post-paid subscriber
    • Get new SIM card from your new Mobile operator.
    • Your new Mobile operator may charge Rs. 19/- as porting charges.
    • Note: You can cancel MNP request only within 24 hours from submitting the CAF & Porting Form. Read Airtel MNP FAQ’s.
  4. Activation of your ported Mobile number

    • If your porting request from Airtel is accepted, your new Mobile operator will confirm the same in 3-4 working days.
    • Your new Mobile operator will inform you the date & time of when the porting will happen, by SMS.
    • On 7th Working day, you will be ported to your new Mobile operator. If you are from Jammu & Kashmir, Assam & North East, it will be on 15th working day.
    • There will be about 2-4 hours service disruption during the porting process, mostly during night only.
    • Replace your current Airtel SIM card with new SIM card provided by your new Mobile operator.

    I had applied for MNP to Airtel on 28th January. My MNP request has been rejected by Donor (reliance) for outstanding payments due. But my monthly bill has been generated on 5th number of days per month. So, now I paid the outstanding on 5th Feb against bill amount (I paid 350 Rs. more than bill amount 287 rs). So kindly take again the necessary step for processing MNP. My mobile no. 9864320180.

      Its always better to pay any unbilled amount also before MNP request; although you might have paid security deposit.

    I have been trying to port my Airtel number from Rajasthan since 20 days in Karnataka. None of the Airtel stores have Prepaid MNP sim cards – while they are available at retail stores (from where i finally managed to get one).
    They said it would take 7 days for the activation. I took the sim card on 23-01-2016 and till today(04-02-2016) i am unable to make an outgoing call from my ported number.

    Had to contact the customer care three times before the number was ported. Each time the customer care executive says wait for 24 hours. Finally today morning the sim got activated. Did the verification call. Recharged it with Rs.300. And still unable to make a call. After talking to 5 or 6 customer care executives( half of which don’t speak any other language other than kannada, and been asked to swich off and on my phone, use another device etc. one person said i need to get the first recharge done from a retail store. Did that, and still no outgoing facility. each call is disconnected with the message “Your service has been barred due to low balance” – i had 300 rs in my main balance though.
    Then again after 3 calls to to 198 – one person said for MNP sims, another two days after verification for activation of outgoing facility!

    This is the height of irresponsibility and extremely poor service.

    I have been an Airtel customer for the past 10 years and have used the service in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rajasthan so far without any problem. The Karnataka Airtel Services better be improved, losing customers is a sure shot otherwise.
    The least Airtel should do is give information via SMS and not waste time (3 hrs of mine) for lack of information.
    Wonder when I can make a call!
