Mobile Number Portability from Loop Mobile

November 21, 2014  •  84 comments

Loop Mobile MNP.  The process of porting Loop mobile number to another Mobile operator is so simple & easy. Just follow the below 4-steps simple process to port successfully:

  1. Know your Mobile Number Porting eligibility

    • Call the customer-care of the new Mobile operator you wish to port and understand their pre-requisites, documents required and terms & conditions. You can read these in their CAF (Customer Application Form) or ask their executive.
    • If you wish to port-out, fill the CAF & Porting Form. To fill these forms, you will need Unique Porting Code.
  2. Get UPC (Unique Porting Code)

    • Send SMS in below format to obtain UPC from Loop Mobile:
      • PORT xxxxxxxxxx to 1900. Replace X’s with your 10-digit Loop mobile number.
    • If you are from Jammu & Kashmir and a pre-paid subscriber, call 1900 to get the UPC.
    • Loop Mobile will provide an auto generated 8 digits UPC; first two characters are alphabets & rest of six is numerical characters.
  3. Mobile Number Porting request

    • Submit the duly filled CAF & Porting Form to your new mobile operator. Below details are mandatory:
      • UPC (Unique Porting Code)
      • Documents required by your new Mobile Operator
      • Last bill paid receipt from Loop Mobile, if you are a post-paid subscriber
    • Get new SIM card from your new Mobile operator.
    • Your new Mobile operator may charge Rs. 19/- as porting charges.
    • Note: You can cancel MNP request only within 24 hours from submitting the CAF & Porting Form. Read Loop Mobile MNP FAQ’s.
  4. Activation of your ported Mobile number

    • If your porting request from Loop Mobile is accepted, your new Mobile operator will confirm the same in 3-4 working days.
    • Your new Mobile operator will inform you the date & time of when the porting will happen, by SMS.
    • On 7th Working day, you will be ported to your new Mobile operator. If you are from Jammu & Kashmir, Assam & North East, it will be on 15th working day.
    • There will be about 2-4 hours service disruption during the porting process, mostly during night only.
    • Replace your current Loop Mobile SIM card with new SIM card provided by your new Mobile operator.

      Hello Arun,

Porting process is around 7 days from the date of application submission; unless any challenges.
Talk to your Vodafone executive to get an exact date of porting to their network and current status as well.

    Hello Admin,

Good job by this post. Can you tell us how can we engage TRAI if Loop Mobile fails to port out our number before 29/11/2014/. We definately dont want to suffer due to the silly mistakes by Loop Mobile.

    Dear concern,
I have applied for number portability from loop to Airtel today(26th Nov). The executive present over there informed that there is least chance that portability will be done stating last date is 29th November. We are not sure whether the number will be ported. We will send the request but we dont assure you. I dont want that number to be permanently out of service . So Can I opt for other operator at the same time because I dont want to take any chance. Guide ,me what is to be done

      Hello Kumar,

As the executive rightly said, hardly he has 3 days left to process the Porting request.
If your Loop number is not ported by 29th Nov’14, you will loose that number permanently.

      Hello Kruunal,

Yes, the SIM should be in India to get the UPC (Unique Porting Code) and you should sign the Porting Form to do the Mobile Number Porting.
Also, you should be available for customer care guys when they call you to verify the porting request; either in India or US.

    Dear Sir,

I had given for porting my 2 loop no. 9773525253 & 9773375352 before one month to idea. my loop no. 9773375352 ported to idea but loop no. 9773525253 still not ported to idea. I had confirmed with Idea Byculla gallery they said that your verification was negative. I had called idea verification person Mr. Babu who came to my company for verification they said that i had given positive verification. I had called idea executive he said that they will send person again for verification but still person not came for verification.

What will happen to LOOP subscribers after 29Nov, if they fail to do MNP before that.
Will that number can be subsequently ported ??

      Hello Subu,

29th Nov’14 is the cut-off date and no telecom services or customer services will be provided by Loop after that.
You should port before that to another operator, if you want to retain your current mobile number.

      Hello Niraj,

Your previous UPC will be valid.
Verify you have given right UPC to Vodafone and confirm the UPC validity with LOOP as well.
