DND Preference Change | Change your NCPR Preferences
You can always change the NCPR (old DND) preferences you have chosen previously to receive your preferred commercial / promotional calls and SMS category. If you wish you cancel DND, you can always do it by calling 1909 or send SMS from your mobile number. But, if you wish to change the preference, keep reading.
You will be able to change your DND preference only if, you registered for DND (now NCPR) three months ago or you have not changed your preferences in the last three months.
Change your DND (now NCPR) preferences by sending SMS to 1909
You can change your NCPR preference by sending SMS to 1909 in a specific format.
Send SMS “STOP <option #>” to stop existing option, for adding a new option to the existing preferences send SMS “START <option #>” which you wish to add.
Check the below example:
If you have chosen existing option of 3 (Education) & 4 (Health) and wish to change your DND preferences to 4 (Health) & 7 (Tourism), send the below messages :-
1) “STOP 3″ – This is a request message to stop messages / calls related to Education.
2) “START 7″ – This is a request message to start messages / calls related to Tourism.
You will now receive messages and calls related to Health and tourism on your mobile & land-line, while block all other category messages and calls.
Change your DND (now NCPR) preferences by calling 1909
To change your NCPR (old DND) preferences, you can choose between speaking with customer care executive or through IVR system.
If you dialed 1909, either speak to customer care executive to explain about the available categories and ask the executive to change your NCPR preferences or follow the IVR (Interactive Voice Response system) instructions to change your NCPR (old DND) preference. You will receive an SMS confirming your NCPR preference change request.

i want to recieve msgs msgs only from waystosms n 160by2 but im unable to recieve it because i hav activated DND on 15th of november 2011 is it possible to get the msgs and how much time wil it take for recieving msgs?i heard from the customer service executive that it would take 3 months for deactivation is it true?? plz help me im facing a lot of problem.

Send SMS START 6 to 1909.
You can start receiving sms from 160by2 and way2sms, but also you will start receiving calls and messages from other service providers also.
i have already sent that START 6 to 1909 but still im unable 2 recieve. does it take some time for activation?? im a reliance GSM user

For NCPR preference change, it takes maximum of 7 days.
i have DND registered on my number. I think I am not any calls from sites like naukri.com, and job sites.. What category do these fall under? Please let me know.
i have sent START 6 to 1909. I hope that is the correct option. How much time does it take to process.
